African countries are demonstrating strong interest in the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, which will be held on May 27–29, 2025 in Moscow at the National Centre RUSSIA. 45 delegations from over 40 African countries and several international organisations from the African continent, including the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), have confirmed their participation in the forum, which will take place under the chairmanship of Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.

Ways to further deepen relations between Russia and African states, primarily in the context of the outcomes of the Russia–Africa summits, will be discussed during a dedicated briefing held on the sidelines of the 13th meeting.

"The large-scale geopolitical changes have directly affected the interests of the countries of the Global South and East. The voice of African nations is increasingly being heard as they strive to pursue foreign policy in the interests of their peoples and to defend their right to freely choose their path of development. Russia has always supported its African partners in defending sovereignty, national interests, and their rightful place in the system of international relations," the press service of the Russian Security Council Office noted.
