More than a hundred residents from the children's camp "Artek" will take part in the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future", which will be held on 7-8 October in Moscow, at the National Centre RUSSIA. The kids will have a chance to communicate with experts, and present their vision of development of humanity, society and the country. The Symposium is held under the auspices of the Decade of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and the Russian Ministry of Culture.

The International Symposium "Inventing the Future" will become a platform for creating positive scenarios for the future. Children from the Artek International Children's Centre will join the discussion of global challenges and futuristic trends. In the course of the expert and open programme events, teenagers will be speakers, share their vision of the future, ask experts some questions, and obtain new knowledge in various fields from urbanism to digital space.

The "Artek" campers will share their vision of what kind of future Russian children want to live in, and along what vectors society, the country and the state should develop so that tomorrow's world becomes a better and safer place. The youngsters will discuss which values will help Russia withstand global challenges and threats of the future, talk about what constitutes the strength of Russian civilization, and what cultural code determines its development. The main issue on the adolescent agenda is what adults should do today to make the future the way children want it to be.

The "Artek" campers' participation in the Symposium will result in a resolution, in which they will outline ways for the positive development of society and technology. The results of the resolution will be announced at the event "Bridge to the Future" at the end of the Symposium programme.

"In the year of Artek's 100th anniversary, it is especially symbolic that our residents become part of such a large-scale dialogue about the future. Participation in the Symposium is not just an honorable mission, but a direct continuity of our traditions: the "Artek" campers have always been the ones who boldly look forward, generate ideas, and bring them to life. This is an important step in the development of young leaders who will build the future of Russia," Konstantin Fedorenko, Director of "Artek", said.
