Tsar-mushroom, book and carpets: unusual flowerbeds of the "Future in Flowers" festival
For the
flower festival, each region presented its own flowerbed exposition. These beds
are adorned not only with flowers and plants but also with vibrant regional
symbols. Visit the "Space" pavilion to see what different corners of
our vast country take pride in.
KHANTY-MANSI
AUTONOMOUS AREA – YUGRA
For the
residents of Yugra, it is quite natural that the main characters of their
flowerbed are not flowers but mushrooms. Khanty-Mansiysk is home to the only
museum in Russia entirely dedicated to mycology. Mushrooms are truly the
calling card of the region. The exposition itself is a metaphorical Siberian
forest. Its design reflects the richness and power of the region's nature, as
well as its scientific activity. Therefore, the tsar-mushroom is at the center,
surrounded by cedars, firs, pines, berries and other gifts of the taiga.
TYUMEN
REGION
The floral
exposition of the Tyumen region fully pays homage to carpet weaving. The famous
carpets with their recognizable floral patterns are not just a craft but a
unique cultural phenomenon and historical heritage of the region. Therefore,
images of carpets adorn the region's flowerbed exposition. The embroidered
flowers become an extension of the live flowers and plants. The color palette
of the exposition is also taken from the colorful Tyumen carpet: black
represents fertile land, wood, peat, fresh and mineral waters; gold symbolizes
fields, meadows and pine forests; green and white represent the cities and
forest-rich lands, modern technologies. Red reminds of luxurious fruit orchards
and symbolizes beauty in all its forms.
OREL REGION
At the
center of the Orel region’s composition is the art object "Book",
surrounded by blooming meadow and steppe grasses. It’s easy to guess that these
images hint at the main wealth of Orlovschina: the book symbolizes the literary
and scientific heritage of famous local natives. The region has been the
birthplace of a multitude of writers, scientists, public figures, and
politicians. The book also symbolizes knowledge, the flight of imagination and
the boundless possibilities that education gives us. The mirrored pages of the
book reveal the natural wealth of the region, inviting viewers to its endless
meadows and fields.
