01.23.2024
Laboratory-intensives of the creative space on the platform of the Gorky Film Studio - Gorky Film Campus - on the basics of popular science film making have started in the ATOM pavilion. They are held within the framework of the interdepartmental cultural and educational project Culture for Schoolchildren with the assistance of the Rosatom Cultural Territory program.
At the free intensives for teenagers Popular Science Films: From Idea to Finished Film, schoolchildren create an educational film in the Atomarium - an interactive zone of the ATOM pavilion with a real science education laboratory. First, the children were given a fascinating introductory tour of the Atomarium, then the masters of the creative space Gorky Film Campus Valeria Semenchukova and Denis Danilov introduced the participants to the specifics of the genre "popular science film", the stages of creating such films and the main film professions. Schoolchildren divided into the roles of director, cameramen, scriptwriters, illuminators, sound engineers, and also analyzed the script frames in detail.
"If at first the kids were shy, closed up, then by the time of distribution of movie roles their eyes lit up, they easily made contact, showed interest and initiative in choosing professions in which they saw themselves. Time will show whether they will become engaged in cinema further. The main thing is that they have awakened a clear interest in this kind of art," said Denis Danilov, a screenwriter-director, author of the Telegram channel Screenwriter's Self-Study and curator of the Intensive.
During the days of the intensives the Atomarium will turn into a real movie set, where schoolchildren get invaluable experience of teamwork, learn to tell about complex scientific phenomena with the help of a universal movie language. All this helps to unite the young generation, allows talented children to find their vocation, gives them an incentive to learn about science and cinematography.
All educational films created by schoolchildren within the framework of the intensives will be published on the Культурадляшкольников.РФ portal.
The organizers of the interdepartmental cultural and educational project Culture for Schoolchildren are the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Centre for Cultural Strategies and Project Management (ROSCULTPROJECT) and the Russian Culture Foundation.
