Day of the Tomsk region: Emerald City, giant cake and scientific standup
The
fairy-tale exposition of the Tomsk region promises to become one of the most
popular, because it is based on the story "The Wizard of Emerald
City" by Alexander Volkov, a graduate of the Tomsk Teachers' Institute.
The exposition venue consists of three zones, each one connected with the
cherished wishes of the main characters of the book - the Tin Man, the
Scarecrow and the Lion: the Heart Zone tells about the regional developments in
the field of medicine, the Mind Zone talks about scientific activity and the
Bravery Zone is dedicated to bold, breakthrough technologies in various fields.
The center
of attraction is the standup "About Siberia". Tomsk is a city of
young scientists and students, and they converge in a real scientific battle!
Its participants present their projects, and the victory goes to the wittiest.
Another unusual event is the lecture "Old Tomsk - Investment in the
Future", where visitors will learn about the connection between
architectural heritage and the university city.
"The RUSSIA EXPO at VDNH is grandiose. It is the central exposition platform of our country - modern history has never known such a scale. And for all its grandiosity, the expositions are nevertheless accessible, understandable and interesting to everyone - both from entrepreneurs and scientists you can hear important and interesting lectures, learn everything about our country," - emphasized the Governor of the region Vladimir Mazur.
On the Day
of the Region, the Tomsk region plans to set a gastronomic record by preparing
a gastro-brand cake Tomsk weighing 45 kg. Everyone will be able to take part in
its preparation. Another "tasty" lesson is given by Tomsk chef Anton
Avramchuk. He prepares a snack "Siberian" from pine nuts, pine cake
in a crispy tube with pumpkin-based cream, smoky venison and sauce of raspberry
and cedar oil, as well as a taiga dessert from lingonberries, pine nuts,
pickled pine cone, rosemary, honey or condensed milk.
Visitors to
the exposition can also take part in a raffle of a four-day trip to the
national tourist route "Tomsk - the Heart of Siberia" for four people
and certificates for accommodation in a suite of a Tomsk hotel.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. During the whole time of the Exposition, guests are welcomed with cultural and entertainment events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal departments, corporations and public organizations will be presented to the visitors. The International RUSSIA EXPO will run from November 4 until April 12 at VDNH in Moscow.
The exposition is open Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The most convenient time to visit is in the morning and weekdays, but the exposition is also open to everyone on weekends. Admission to all expositions and events is free of charge.
