Dmitry Milyaev met with participants of the All-Russian women’s forum "Together"
On 17 September at the National Centre RUSSIA, as part of the Days of the Tula region at the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future", the V All-Russian women’s forum "Together" took place. It was attended by the Governor of the Tula Region, Dmitry Milyaev.
This year the forum was dedicated to the implementation of the National Strategy of Action for Women up to 2030 and the development of women’s entrepreneurship. The event brought together women leaders from all regions of Russia.
The forum featured strategic and expert sessions, as well as discussion platforms.
"As the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, said: 'Our state policy is based on the national strategy of action for women.' That is why we are here today — to discuss how this strategy is being implemented in practice and how we can move forward together," said Dmitry Milyaev.
The Governor emphasised that women make a tremendous contribution to achieving national development goals. It is impossible to imagine healthcare, education, science, culture, entrepreneurship, and state and municipal governance without them.
The head of the region expressed special gratitude to the Deputy Chair of the Federation Council, Inna Svyatenko. He noted that under the leadership of Valentina Matvienko, the Federation Council pays great attention to the women’s agenda and the implementation of the National Strategy of Action for Women up to 2030.
"The Tula region is a region for life and a land of family happiness. At the centre of our attention is the family. We are convinced: a strong family means a strong Russia, and a woman is its soul and support. Our main priority is supporting the family, strengthening its authority and traditional family values. Our important common task is to create conditions in which every woman can realise herself in her profession and in public life, while remaining the keeper of the home. We do not just talk about this — we act," said Dmitry Milyaev.
According to the Governor, a unique system of family and maternity support operates successfully in the Tula region. It includes more than 50 regional measures — from monthly payments to a one-off payment of 1 million roubles for the birth of a second or third child. A regional demographic standard has been introduced, which provides support for working families: improved housing conditions, material payments, additional leave, and flexible schedules. More than 1,000 enterprises have already joined the implementation of this standard. This is not just an agreement but real measures aimed at supporting employees with children. The joint efforts of the authorities and business create a synergistic effect.
In the region’s higher education system, conditions are being created to enable mothers to successfully combine studies with raising children. Universities have introduced childcare rooms, where qualified staff look after children. Among the students of the region are parents of large families; they receive compensation for tuition fees at universities in the Tula region. Conditions are being created for women to achieve maximum self-realisation in studies and in their professions.
"Today, the country faces the task of achieving technological sovereignty. And we understand that without the participation of women in high-tech and knowledge-intensive sectors this task cannot be fulfilled. Women are advancing actively not only in science but also in entrepreneurship, politics, business, and the arts. Women entrepreneurs create new jobs, develop social business, successfully build international cooperation, and, in general, create our future," said the head of the region.
