Dolgans and Evenks got married in Moscow. Two Krasnoyarsk couples tied the knot at VDNH
Representatives
of Dolgans and Evenks - the indigenous population of the Krasnoyarsk region -
got married on the Day of the Krasnoyarsk region. Maria Spiridonova and Alexei
Chuprin were congratulated by the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Mikhail
Kotyukov on the birth of a new Dolgan family.
"I
wish you a strong and sincere union - the same as the wonderful traditions of
your magnificent people. And may your every day be filled with interest in each
other and in life," - said the head of the region.
The wedding
ceremony was held in strict accordance with the rite of the Dolgans - a small
indigenous population of the Taymyr Peninsula. The bride and groom appeared
before the audience in national dress, surrounded by traditional northern
attributes. The full immersion of the audience into the specifics of the Dolgan
wedding - the family and tribal holiday "Haka kuruma" - and the
traditional culture of the northerners was facilitated by the original musical
accompaniment. It was provided by the Dolgan folklore group "Dorgon"
and the ensemble "Kheiro", whose performers are all representatives
of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of Taymyr.
"It
was such a happy opportunity to come to the RUSSIA EXPO, we were very excited,
and we are really very happy," said the bride. "We prepared for a long time, took part
in rehearsals, the artists prepared us especially for the wedding ceremony in
the national traditions of the Taymyr, we honor and respect them," - added
the groom.
In turn,
the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk region Alexey
Dodatko congratulated the representatives of the Evenks - Faina Mikhailova and
Yuri Tyukpiekov - on the official registration of the marriage. "Of
course, the story of every new family is unique, but something special has
appeared in your biography, because the path you took to create a family ended
so far away - in the center of our country, at the RUSSIA EXPO, where the best
things of our Motherland are gathered. Now you are a part of this history, and
we are proud that you are here not only on the stage, but also in life,
preserving the traditions of our region," - he said.
"I
would never have believed if a year ago I was told that I would have a wedding
in Moscow at VDNH and at such an exposition, we are happy," the Evenk
bride shared her impressions. "Yes, such things in life happen very
rarely, and we are delighted that we were offered such an opportunity," - added the groom.
Guests of the exposition were shown an Evenki matchmaking called "Kurum". The visitors also learned about other wedding rituals - for example, how the size of kalym (dowry) is determined among the representatives of this people. The marriage registration continued with traditional national competitions, and ended with a ritual Yokhoriyo round dance.
Both wedding ceremonies were registered by the Moscow Registry Office. "Today, the RUSSIA EXPO hosted the ethnic Dolgan and Evenki weddings of two couples of newlyweds from the Krasnoyarsk region. Each marriage ceremony is like a part of the mosaic of the national cultural heritage. Moscow Registry Offices are proud of the opportunity to accompany newlyweds on their journey to a happy future, especially when it happens at such a landmark event as the RUSSIA EXPO. We are happy to participate in creating unique and unforgettable moments in the lives of our citizens," - said Natalia Sharpar, head of the Wedding Palace at VDNH.
