Ancient oak, ecology and hop growing: Chuvashia Day at the RUSSIA EXPO
Unique
water transportation routes, ecological environment and active tourism. The
Chuvash Republic spoke about its main achievements at the RUSSIA EXPO.
The region
is an absolute leader in hop production: an experimental model of a hop
harvester has been developed here, and a Center of Competence in hop growing
has been created.
In
addition, Chuvashia is among the top ten in the ecological rating of the
quality of life in the regions. A favorable environment was created for the
residents due to the "green" course. By the way, a 372-year-old oak
tree, which grows in Chuvashia, received the Russian Tree of the Year 2023
award. Today the region pays special attention to the development of tourism.
"For the first time in the history of the new Russia, interregional routes of inland water transport were launched, which served as an impetus for the development of domestic tourism. The network of routes and the number of vessels is increasing every year", - said the head of region.
Cooking workshops, a performance by a folklore ensemble, and a wedding ceremony based on Chuvash traditions were arranged for the guests of the exposition.
Professor, Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) in Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman will be another international participant of the Open Dialogue.
On 28 August, the National Centre RUSSIA launched enrolment in the "Young Tour Guides School of Russia".
On 27 August, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a panel discussion organised by the EISR titled "Knowledge about the Country’s Achievements: To Whom and How Should It Be Properly Communicated?".
