Exclusive from the National Centre RUSSIA: writer Vadim Panov on the upcoming Symposium "Inventing the Future"
Science fiction writer Vadim Panov spoke about the important issues that will be discussed at the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future," which will take place in October 2025 at the National Centre RUSSIA.
According to the author, participants at the event will be able to analyze possible future developments for Russia.
"Any large country is interested in striving forward, into the future. The symposium offers an opportunity to think about what Russia will be like in ten, twenty, fifty years. To imagine what will be important, what may disappear in the waves of history, and how we will live. These are important questions, and I am very glad that we are thinking about them," said Vadim Panov.
In early March, the first meeting of the Symposium moderators took place at the National Centre RUSSIA. The participants included representatives from partner state organizations, science fiction writers, and literary scholars. They discussed ways to support science fiction, key themes for the upcoming event, and the importance of dialogue between authors and the scientific community.
According to the moderators, the Symposium plays an important role not only in popularizing the genre but also in shaping basic knowledge about science fiction. The participants of the meeting noted that reflecting on the future is essential for every person, and the Symposium provides an opportunity to explore the prospects for the development of the country and society.
