In the design of the region's New Year tree at VDNH, decorators emphasized the pottery traditions of the Kursk region. The tree is decorated with pots, zoomorphic ceramic vessels shaped like birds and animals. And under the Christmas tree there is a bright Kozhlyanskaya clay toy.

The decor is complemented by products of traditional Sudzha carpet weaving - woolen mini rugs with floral and geometric patterns and woven carpet panels "Kuryanochka".

The city of Sudzha has long been the largest center of carpet weaving in Russia. Back in the 17th century in the villages of Sudzha district, many peasants wove on homemade looms -"krosny" - canvas, cloth, multicolored fabric with patterns, woolen cloth, tablecloths, sackcloth, bedding and carpets, elements of clothing and household items. The products were ordered even by buyers from Paris and New York.

Sudzha carpet was a trademark of the region, today handmade carpets are once again created in the district art college.
