New Year tree of the Perm region: colorful panels and Kungur ceramics
Real products of the region’s folk art craft — Kungur ceramics — decorated the region’s New Year tree at VDNH.
This is an ancient pottery craft, which originated in the town of Kungur more than 300 years ago.
The history of these products is so long that it is mentioned in the chronicles. And in 1790 A. N. Radishchev left a record about Kungur pots in his diary. Peasant potters at that time made and sold simple and inexpensive things that could not boast of exquisite decorations, but were necessary in the household — pots, pots, jugs, crocks and so on.
Also, to decorate the fir tree, artists of the region painted traditional wooden panels and boards, figures of horses and stylized angels.
On the Main Alley of VDNH visitors are greeted by New Year fir trees, each of them representing a region of the country. The RUSSIA EXPO is open from Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The best time to visit is in the mornings and weekdays, but the exposition is open to everyone on weekends as well. All expositions and events are free of charge.
