"RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes" festival to commence on 21 February at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 21 February, at 17:00, the opening ceremony of the "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes" festival will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA. Attendees will be able to see premieres from Russian documentary filmmakers and films by international authors, and to visit roundtables with renowned experts and a festive concert dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, featuring performances by Russian pop stars.
On this day, a new film by RT military documentary filmmaker Yekaterina Kitaitseva, named "Reconstruction of the Soul of Donbass" will be screened. The documentary explores the restoration of churches destroyed by Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes. Besides, the opening ceremony will feature performances by singers Yuta and Yelena Sever. Yelena Sever will perform the composition "Return the Memory" to lyrics by Maria Zakharova.
Another anticipated festival premiere is "The Bloody Stooges of the West" by renowned screenwriter and director Tatyana Borshch, focusing on female politicians in Europe obsessed with a thirst for power. Additionally, festival guests can look forward to the first screening of the film "My Hero" by war correspondent Anastasia Mikhailovskaya. The film features memories of family, friends, and colleagues of military doctor Roman Bezrukov, who died at the front saving others.
This year, the "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes" festival will feature an expanded international programme. Documentary filmmakers from 15 countries will participate: Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Venezuela, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
The festival will run from 21 to 23 February. The audience programme will include 38 films by renowned Russian and international authors. Panel discussions and roundtables dedicated to the special military operation will also be held.
The closing ceremony of the "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes" festival will be held on 23 February at 17:30. On this day, a festive concert dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, organised jointly with the National Centre RUSSIA, will take place. The concert will feature, among others, the frontline band named "Zveroboy", the ‘Kostroma’ ballet, and singer Tatyana Kurtukova.
