Fitness Battle, Embankment in Baltiysk and Yasnaya Polyana development: new projects of the Northwest at the RUSSIA EXPO
The second stage of the presentation of the best projects of the Northwestern macroregion was continued by representatives from the Kaliningrad region. They introduced the guests to infrastructure, sports and tourism development projects. The event was held in Pavilion No. 75 as part of the Regional Development Days "Space of the Future".
Vladimir Sudiyan, Chairman of the Council of Deputies, Head of the Municipal Entity "Nesterovsky Municipal District of the Kaliningrad Region", spoke about the infrastructure project "Integrated Improvement and Development of the Territory of the Yasnaya Polyana settlement" and the creation of four interaction zones of the settlement territory.
"The project consists in creating four interaction zones of the settlement territory. The first zone is a cultural-public zone. It is aimed at holding cultural events. Then, the recreational zone, where it is intended to improve the territory. Historical zone - it is aimed at preserving cultural and natural heritage and, finally, the zone of equestrian and sports complex," emphasized Vladimir Sudiyan.
The youth project "Fitness Battle" was presented by its organizer - designer and student of Kant BFU Polina Kovalevskaya. She noted that the project has no restrictions on age and physical capabilities. The competition is held in five stages, starting from warm-up and finishing with thematic exercises and awarding prizes.
"Until this year, it was an amateur project. People invested their money there; it was such a gamble. The current project is completely free. There are no restrictions on age, gender or physical ability. Competitions are held in the first week of each month throughout the year in several categories. I would like to note that there will be 20 volunteers on the site who will help and lead this project," said Polina Kovalevskaya.
Sergei Melnikov, Head of the Administration of Baltiysk city district, spoke about the project "Improvement of the Embankment in the City of Baltiysk 'Russia on the Baltic'".
"Improvement of the embankment is an important tourist point, which will attract residents from other regions of Russia to us. We plan to create a comfortable public space in the historical center of Baltiysk. We will do this by carrying out landscaping works, arranging sports and children's playgrounds, creating conditions for comfortable mass events and cultural recreation for residents and guests of the district," emphasized Sergei Melnikov.
