Heroes of fairy tales, road construction and growth of budget revenues: Pskov region at the RUSSIA EXPO
An important center of trade and industry and a real open-air museum. This is how the Pskov region presented itself on the Day of the Region at the RUSSIA EXPO.
According to Governor Mikhail Vedernikov, the region is among the top five Russian regions in terms of budget revenue growth over the past five years.
"Thanks to the support of our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and the Russian Government, we have begun to form new points of economic growth, successfully solving the problem of import substitution, we are renewing social, educational, sports, medical, transportation infrastructure, repairing bridges and roads, we are substantially engaged in the improvement of cities and towns. There is still a lot of work to do, and we have serious plans for development", — said Mikhail Vedernikov.
The construction of the highway Northern Bypass of the City of Pskov has been resumed in the region. This project has a significant social and economic effect not only on the scale of the region, but also in the national scope. It is about intensification of transport communication with St. Petersburg and North-Western regions of the country, access to the port of Ust-Luga, as well as with the Republic of Belarus.
The historical path of the region and its culture are fascinatingly described at the stand of the Pskov region. There are interactive quizzes and quests, and the guests are greeted by the characters of Alexander Pushkin's works: Koshchey the Immortal, Leshiy, Chernomor and a mortar with Baba Yaga. Cartoons about the natives of the region are shown for children, and the House of Russian Cuisine prepared a gastronomic performance Pskov Food.
Another bright highlight of the Day of the Region was a concert of the Honored Collective of Folk Art of Russia, the V.G. Rumyantsev ensemble SKAZ, as well as participants of the Lisa Matryoshka project (Drum&Jazz cover band).
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
