Governor of the Amur region: The Vostochny Cosmodrome opens up new horizons for Russia
The Vostochny Cosmodrome opens up new horizons for the development of Russia's future. 20 successful launches have already been made from it, including the launch of the Angara heavy rocket in 2024. This was stated by Vasily Orlov, Governor of the Amur region, at a meeting at the National Centre RUSSIA. This event is part of "Platform of the Future: Region-2030. 100 Steps" -- a cycle of meetings with the heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
"Today, two launch pads and all the necessary infrastructure have been built at the Vostochny cosmodrome. There have been 20 successful launches, including the launch of the Angara heavy rocket in 2024," Vasily Orlov said.
According to him, launches of the Angara rocket are also scheduled for 2027, which will bring new opportunities for manned launches. All this demonstrates a completely different level of technology and innovation, the Governor emphasized.
"The Vostochny cosmodrome is one of the most up-to-date in the world. Workshops are being opened there, where rockets are assembled and satellites are installed. Those who come here feel proud of the country, because only a great power is capable of such projects," he added.
Vasily Orlov also mentioned the development of the closed administrative-territorial entity Tsiolkovsky. On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a master plan for the integrated development of the cities of Tsiolkovsky and Svobodny as an agglomeration is being developed, which provides for the creation of a comfortable environment for living and working, as well as infrastructure for tourist visits to the cosmodrome and industrial enterprises. The construction of an airstrip is being completed at the cosmodrome, which in the future will allow tourists to explore the facilities of the Vostochny.
The Governor emphasized the active involvement of young people in the region's space industry. In 2024, the first Russian-Chinese satellite, created by university students from the two countries, was launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome. Today, hundreds of graduates from Amur universities are working at the cosmodrome, which gives young professionals and the entire industry new prospects", Vasily Orlov summed up.
The event started on 23 September at the National Centre RUSSIA.
During the meeting, the heads of the working groups and the leaders of the project teams presented reports on the work done.
At the beginning of next year, it is planned to make the punishment for counterfeiters of dairy products more severe.
