The governor of the Stavropol region outlined key objectives up to 2036
By 2036, the Stavropol region intends to significantly increase its industrial capacity and ensure steady population growth. This was stated by the Governor of the Stavropol Region, Vladimir Vladimirov, during the presentation of the development strategy "Region-2030. Stavropol Region" at the National Centre RUSSIA.
"By 2036, we must increase industrial output by at least 60%. The President has set the task of ‘industry for industry’, and this is a serious benchmark for development," Vladimir Vladimirov emphasised.
He noted that alongside industrial growth, expanding export potential and developing the processing of agricultural products remain priorities. According to the governor, by 2030 the region aims to increase exports by at least 25%, bringing them to nearly 2 billion US dollars, and by 2036 to add a further 25%.
"This is a major challenge, because it is not enough to produce goods — we must also be able to sell them on foreign markets," he added.
Vladimir Vladimirov paid particular attention to the development of the processing industry. According to him, the Stavropol region is a major producer of agricultural products; however, a significant share is still processed outside the region.
"Our goal is to double the volume of agricultural processing. This means the development of the food industry, new jobs and increased profitability of rural areas," Vladimir Vladimirov noted.
The governor stressed that the region already has strong entrepreneurs and successful projects, but this area requires further strengthening. He also identified a second key objective looking ahead to 2036 — demographic growth.
"Of course, we would like to reach another crucial indicator by 2036 — population growth in the Stavropol region. We aim to surpass the mark of 3 million residents and maintain steady population growth. In my view, this is one of the main indicators of the region’s successful economic development," Vladimir Vladimirov said.
The visit of the Governor of the Stavropol Region, Vladimir Vladimirov, took place as part of the thematic week of regions at the National Centre RUSSIA.
