Vladimir Vladimirov: we will grow bananas in the Stavropol region
In 2025, the Stavropol region began implementing Russia’s first investment project for the construction of a greenhouse complex with a total area of 45.9 hectares for growing bananas in controlled conditions. This was announced by the Governor of the Stavropol Region, Vladimir Vladimirov, at the National Centre RUSSIA on 27 February.
"There will definitely be bananas in the region. One small detail remains: the investor is obtaining a bank guarantee to secure support in subsidising interest rates on loans. There will be bananas," Vladimir Vladimirov emphasised.
According to him, the project’s total value will amount to approximately 3 billion roubles. As part of the creation of the greenhouse complex, 57 new jobs are planned.
The address by the Governor of the Stavropol Region, Vladimir Vladimirov, took place during the region’s thematic week at the National Centre RUSSIA. He shared plans for the region’s development up to 2030, speaking about the economy, investment, agriculture, support for participants in the special military operation, and other areas.
