International participants of the "Inventing the Future" Symposium embarked on a river tour in Moscow
Foreign participants of the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" enjoyed a river tour dedicated to Moscow's history and architecture. The water journey allowed the guests to take in Moscow's views and learn about the city’s evolution and future. On the first day of the Symposium, participants from China, India, Malaysia, Ghana, and other countries joined the tour.
The three-hour cruise along the Moskva River began at the City and concluded at the Floating Bridge in Zaryadye Park. This tour was a true journey through time, from the city's oldest monuments — foremost among them the Moscow Kremlin, symbolizing history and tradition — to the most modern landmarks that represent progress and the future, such as the City district.
Participants also saw the main building of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia’s leading university shaping the future of science and education; the iconic Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure; and the Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills) — a favorite spot for relaxation and inspiration — as well as the architectural masterpiece Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Zaryadye landscape park, and much more.
"I really enjoyed Moscow, especially at night when it’s all lit up. It was fascinating to see the historic centre — the chocolate factory impressed me, and I immediately wanted to buy some sweets. The scale of Moscow’s buildings is striking, as are the monuments; the monument to Peter the Great was especially memorable," shared Yun Liu from China.
The Symposium participants also shared their impressions of the first day of the event.
"Excellent organization, incredible attention to detail; there’s a sense of teamwork and unity ambiance. And it was especially nice that, after an intense business program, we were treated to such an interesting cultural experience," said John Aggrey, CEO of Ghana’s Trade and Connections Centre.
On November 5, John Aggrey will be one of the speakers at the roundtable "Food Security and Food of the Future," where participants will discuss whether humanity faces hunger a hundred years from now and how climate change may impact food availability.
Professional guides led the tour in multiple languages, sharing insights on the origins of constructivism, the architects who shaped Moscow, and how the concepts of creation of workers’ clubs and communal housing transformed the country for the better, giving its people a dream of a bright future.
Several excursions are planned for international guests as part of the Symposium. They can choose between a river tour and a bus tour. Each route is carefully designed to ensure participants can learn and see as much as possible.
