Art creates a new world: BRICS Theater Festival at the RUSSIA EXPO
Panel
discussion "Protection and Promotion of Traditional Values through Theater
Art - BRICS Cultural Strategy". The participants discussed the main trends
in the field of theater art and its impact on the protection of traditional
values.
The task of
the BRICS countries is to create an alternative to the existing global
infrastructure, emphasized Sergei Markov, political scientist and Director of
the Institute for Political Studies. According to him, this also applies to the
sphere of art.
"This
is a job for all areas. Today, almost all theater festivals are controlled by
the West. The mainstream of BRICS development is the creation of parallel
global infrastructure systems for all countries - not just for unification.
This is a magnificent, brilliant work - to create a new world of modern
humanity," said Sergei Markov.
Theater
also plays a great role in preserving traditional values, said Sri Prem
Prayojan, founder and president of the International Chaitanya Academy and
curator of the Veda Renaissance International Theater.
"Those
societies that have traditional values have been able to survive from ancient
times to today. Others have disappeared with the passage of centuries.
Political decisions now need to be taken keeping in mind the moral principles
that are embedded in these values. They are consonant with the laws of nature.
Their absence leads to the disintegration of society," said Sri Prem
Prayojan.
The panel
discussion was held within the framework of the VII International Festival of
Theater Schools of the BRICS+ countries, which is taking place at the RUSSIA
EXPO from June 1 to 8.
The BRICS
International Festival of Theatre Schools is organized by the Institute of
Theatre Art named after People's Artist of the USSR I.D. Kobzon and has been
held in Russia since 2017. As a form of public diplomacy, the initiative aims
to foster and develop friendly ties between the student youth of the BRICS
countries and Belarus. The festival is supported by the Presidential Grants
Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The final session of the Open Dialogue "Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on the closing day, April 30.
