Summer highlights in Vladivostok will conclude with the festival "Primorye Monsoons"
From 26 to 28 September, the transformed embankment of
Sportivnaya Harbour in Vladivostok will host the festival "Primorye
Monsoons". Guests will enjoy a concert by The Hatters, gastronomic
discoveries, an immersive trolleybus, vibrant themed zones, and tours of the
Primorye branch of the National Centre RUSSIA.
At the end of September, Vladivostok is traditionally swept
by a true cultural monsoon. This year the festival will unfold across several
themed venues, each offering a new way to experience the unique character of
the port city at the crossroads of cultures.
"The festival "Primorye Monsoons" has already
been held for three years, and its popularity is growing. Last year the event
was attended by around 40,000 people. We aim to make it so that both residents
and visitors of the city can feel the special atmosphere through cuisine,
history, tours, and music. The content is engaging even for those who simply
came along with friends or who arrived in Vladivostok as tourists and are not
yet familiar with the theme. "Primorye Monsoons" is about mood, that
special feeling that brings people to our venues. This year the programme is
enhanced by the recently opened National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region,
located on Batareynaya Street, which has become a harmonious extension of the
festival venues. The centre’s expositions present a holistic picture of the
region’s life, adding to the cultural impression of the event," said Olga
Gurevich, Director of the Tourist Information Centre of the Primorye region.
The headliner of the festival this year will be the Russian
rock band The Hatters. Their performance will take place on 27 September.
At the food court zone, teams from nearly 20 restaurants
will present the diversity of Far Eastern and Asian cuisine on 26 and 27
September. Guests will discover both familiar flavours and completely new
culinary delights.
At the "Facets of Millionka" venue, the atmosphere
of the most mysterious quarter of old Vladivostok will be recreated. The
immersion will be enhanced by red lanterns, traditional costumes, mahjong and
go games, oriental fans, and much more.
An unusual journey will be offered by the immersive
trolleybus. On a special route, guests will hear through headphones the
"voice of the city" — from the sounds of the sea and taiga to the
music that has resonated in Vladivostok through different eras: from old
romances to modern K-pop hits.
Next to the Primorye branch of the National Centre RUSSIA at
4 Batareynaya Street, on 27 September, skateboarding competitions in the jam
session format will take place. The embankment will also host sports and dance
warm-ups, martial arts workshops, concerts by bands from the Primorye and
Khabarovsk regions, quizzes, and tours of Millionka — and, of course, of the
National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye.
On 28 September, the festival programme will expand with
events dedicated to Tiger Day. Guests will find interactive venues, photo
zones, a food court, and a festive concert. On Tiger Day it will be possible to
create themed souvenirs, take part in tree-planting workshops, test agility,
and even temporarily transform into a striped predator with the help of face
painting. One of the main highlights will be the "Tiger Parade",
involving schoolchildren who will prepare bright costumes.
The National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region opened on 7
September and has already become a focal point for residents and visitors. The
centre’s interactive expositions allow visitors to discover the natural and
cultural diversity of Primorye. The zones present the achievements of industry,
science, and education, as well as outlining plans for the future.
Tours at the centre are free of charge. To take part,
visitors need to log in on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA in the
Primorye region and select a convenient date and time. Tours are held daily except
Monday, from 10:00 to 20:00. Groups are formed of up to 15 people, and the
programme lasts 90 minutes. Participation without prior registration is
possible if there are free spaces, but it is better to book in advance to
guarantee a place.
