The final week of the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition will be special for young visitors. In addition to getting acquainted with epic stories, folk legends, and magical artefacts from the country's regions, they will be able to take part in a children's quest called "In Search of the Firebird". This unique guided tour programme will run daily from 24 February to 1 March.

Getting to know folk traditions will become an exciting adventure for the children. The abundance of legends and riddles, creative tasks, and national ornaments with secret symbols will help them get closer step by step to the main keeper of fairy-tale stories at the National Centre RUSSIA — the Firebird. Thus, in a game-like manner, the young participants of the tour will discover the numerous cultural treasures of different corners of Russia.

The "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition opened at the venue of the National Centre RUSSIA on 13 December as part of the "New Year Russia" project. Eight regions of the country are taking part in it — the Vologda, Ryazan, Kaliningrad, and Stavropol regions, the Komi Republic, the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Karelia, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. Each visitor follows their own "hero's journey" through the exposition, built in accordance with the ideas of the outstanding folklorist Vladimir Propp, who saw the fairy tale as a way to dispel chaos and lead people towards goodness and light.

The journey begins in the Firebird's Treasure-Library, where rare museum artefacts are collected. Then, accompanied by guides, guests sequentially "flip through" the pages of the regions' folk epics, encounter living heroes from well-known fairy tales, and participate in interactive activities.

Admission to the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition is free of charge, but prior registration for an organised tour is required on the website russia.ru in the "Events" section. Bring your whole family to the National Centre RUSSIA — a trip to the fairy tale continues!
