How Russian families will celebrate the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity
Russian women have shared how they plan to celebrate the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity with their families. They also spoke about whether they present gifts to their loved ones, and what they expect from men on this occasion. The survey was conducted by the III All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts" of the National Centre RUSSIA together with the Lady Mail project ahead of the festival, which will take place in Moscow on 8 and 9 July.
The survey was conducted between 26 June and 2 July 2026 and involved 1,538 women aged over 18 from across Russia. More than 50 percent of respondents are officially married, eight percent are in a civil partnership, and 29 percent are unmarried.
The survey found that most Russian women plan to spend the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity enjoying a quiet evening at home with their families (38 percent). Many respondents (15 percent) intend to spend the day alone with their loved one, while eight percent will go for a family walk in a park, seven percent will head into nature together, six percent will gather around the festive table with their extended family, and four percent plan to attend a concert or a city celebration.

A further seven percent said that spending the holiday with children helps strengthen relationships. Another seven percent selected each of the following options: going on a romantic date, taking a trip into nature or sharing a festive dinner.
On the Feast Day of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, most families consider spending time together to be more important than exchanging gifts. This was the response given by 63 percent of participants. At the same time, 11 percent would like to introduce a family tradition of giving presents to loved ones, while six percent already exchange gifts on the occasion.
For 45 percent of women, the most important thing on this day is receiving attention and care from their partners. At the same time, 11 percent would happily accept flowers or another gift, nine percent would enjoy a date organised by their partner, another nine percent would appreciate a surprise, and eight percent would value compliments and declarations of love.
What else would women like on the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity? Nine per cent would like their partner to help them relax by taking over household responsibilities, four percent would like to spend the festive evening together without phones or computers, and two percent would appreciate their partner spending more time with the children.
The Lady Mail special project "Family Code" offers advice on how women can talk to their partners about their wishes and build happy, strong families. Besides, family psychology, parenting and building harmonious relationships will be among the topics discussed by participants and experts at the III All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts".
This festive event, dedicated to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, will take place on 8–9 July at the National Centre RUSSIA. On the first day, couples from across the country will take part in a simultaneous marriage registration ceremony. On 9 July, the second day of the festival will feature an educational programme open to everyone who registers on the National Centre RUSSIA website.
The festival will conclude with the musical and choreographic parable "Khorovod. Wedding", featuring newlyweds, their guests and other participants.
This traditional circle dance, in which there are no principal performers and every participant is equally important, can be regarded as a cultural symbol of Russia. It will serve as a symbol of unity, mutual understanding and support, since a khorovod can only take shape when everyone joins hands.
In 2026, the festival is expanding its geographical reach. In addition to the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow, ceremonial wedding celebrations will also take place at its branches in the Krasnoyarsk and Primorye Territories, as well as in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra. Alongside Russian couples, international couples will also take part in the festival.
The III All-Russian Wedding Festival is organised by the National Centre RUSSIA together with the Government of Moscow and the Moscow Civil Registry Office. During the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by President Vladimir Putin, the festival's central theme is "United in Love" — the unity of hearts, cultures, traditions and values.
The "Geography Lessons" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA is drawing to a close.
