"Kila – Russia’s National Sport" won Grand Prix in the "You’re in the Game" competition
On July 1, the winners of the fifth season of the All-Russian sports project competition "You’re in the Game," organised by the ANO "National Priorities" with the support of the Ministry of Sport of Russia, were announced and awarded. The award ceremony took place at the National Centre RUSSIA and brought together finalists, competition experts, and honorary guests, including the Minister of Sport and President of the Russian Olympic Committee Mikhail Degtyarev, as well as Director General of the ANO "National Priorities" Sofia Malyavina.
"The All-Russian competition 'You’re in the Game' has become a large-scale movement uniting sports enthusiasts from across the country. Over five seasons, more than 21,000 projects have been submitted. The competition contributes to achieving an important goal set by President Vladimir Putin — ensuring that by 2030, at least 70% of citizens regularly engage in physical activity and sports. 'You’re in the Game' supports a wide variety of initiatives — from family sports and running clubs to national sports such as this season’s Grand Prix winner, the traditional Russian game kila, which develops strength, ingenuity, and team spirit. With state support, the competition helps create a society of equal opportunities and fosters a culture of active and healthy living, making sport accessible to everyone," noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko in his address to the participants.
Regional initiatives that unite people of all ages and professions are of particular importance. These are the projects that become models to follow and set new standards for engagement.
"Friends, I am truly pleased to be here today. We launched this competition together in its anniversary fifth season. I would like to thank our partners, the jury, and, most importantly, all participants. From across our Mother Russia, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, from Murmansk to Crimea, you submitted your applications. And today we celebrate those who have won – the laureates – I sincerely congratulate you on behalf of the entire sports community. Together, we are helping Russia and our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin achieve the national goals for the development of sport and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. I thank all the laureates for your contribution. Because indifference and laziness — that’s not our way. But activity and energy — that’s what we’re all about. Thank you very much!" said Minister of Sport and President of the Russian Olympic Committee Mikhail Degtyarev.
The fifth season of the competition showed significant progress: the number of applications increased, the geographical reach of participants expanded, and new formats and areas emerged. Each finalist represents a success story backed by enthusiasm, hard work, and a desire to make sport accessible to everyone.
"The fifth season of 'You’re in the Game' was a breakthrough for us and a clear demonstration of how the competition is transforming Russia’s sports landscape. Over five years, we have nearly doubled the number of applications: in the first season, there were just over 2,500 projects, and this year we received 5,582 initiatives from all corners of the country. We see how 'You’re in the Game' participants become true ambassadors for sport: every third participant joins through a friend’s recommendation, and many return after the competition with new ideas, scaling their projects several times over. What is especially encouraging is that our finalists not only compete but actively share experiences, host joint workshops, support one another, and launch new initiatives. 'You’re in the Game' is about people who are changing the world around them and making sport truly accessible to all," said Sofia Malyavina, Director General of the ANO "National Priorities."
