AI beyond the screen: watch the new Open Dialogue podcast episode on the key resource of our time
09.11

The new episode of the National Centre RUSSIA Open Dialogue podcast begins with the idea that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a digital tool: it is becoming an integral part of the real economy. Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia, discussed how this is changing the balance of power in the global technology race with Shaoshan Liu, Director of the Embodied Artificial Intelligence Center at the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS).

The participants in the latest podcast episode agreed that a powerful intelligent model alone is no longer enough. In today's world, energy, computing capacity and infrastructure capable of supporting the mass deployment of autonomous systems are coming to the fore.

Shaoshan Liu offers a simple formula describing the new AI economy: energy → computing → intelligence → productivity. His key point is that amid growing competition, the crucial question is no longer the power of an AI model, but the ability to provide useful, reliable and affordable intelligence at the scale required.

The podcast was recorded at the National Centre RUSSIA branch in the Primorye Territory during the expert session "Asia-Pacific: A Testing Ground for Technology" of the international Open Dialogue project "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth", held with the support of the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "The Third Rome".

What will become the key resource of the artificial intelligence era — algorithms, chips or energy? How will the concept of "technological sovereignty" evolve as AI becomes a new layer of economic infrastructure? Find the answers in the new Open Dialogue podcast episode, available on the National Centre RUSSIA website and social media.
