Film Forum "Peoples of Russia and the CIS" to take place on 2–3 November
The Film Forum, held as part of the "Peoples of Russia
and the CIS" International Festival under the auspices of the Security
Council of Russia, will take place in Moscow on 2–3 November 2025. This
significant cultural event will bring together filmmakers from CIS countries
and Russian regions.
The key event of the business programme will be the plenary session "The Role of Cinema in Shaping a Common Cultural Space for the Peoples of Russia and the CIS", scheduled for 2 November from 13:00 to 15:00 at the MosKino Cinema Park. The discussion will focus on defining the role of cinema as a universal language of cultural exchange and a tool for preserving the shared historical heritage of the CIS countries. Participants will discuss the creation of joint film projects and digital platforms, the regular organisation of Russian film festivals in the CIS countries and foreign film festivals in Russia, as well as the educational and enlightenment functions of cinema.
The session will also explore initiatives to establish a
common film distribution space and the role of regional cinema in fostering
cultural dialogue between nations and peoples.
The session will be attended by representatives of
government bodies and leading film industry professionals from Russia,
Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
The plenary session will also include the signing of
cooperation agreements between Russian and foreign film producers.
A special part of the Film Forum programme will feature
screenings of joint CIS film productions and creative meetings with film crews,
to be held on 2–3 November at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The Film Forum is organised by the Ministry of Culture of
Russia, the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, the Department of Culture of
Moscow, ROSKINO, the Foundation for the Support of Regional Cinema,
Gazprom-Media Holding JSC, the Internet Development Institute and the Russian
Geographical Society, in coordination with the Security Council of the Russian
Federation.
