Composition made of Tyumen moss will decorate the Tyumen region’s stand at the RUSSIA EXPO
The facade of the Tyumen region stand at the International RUSSIA EXPO will be decorated with a map of Russia made of moss from the Tyumen forests.
Several art objects will decorate the region’s stand. The largest one is the work of designer Vladimir Yurchak and his wife, artist Alevtina Yurchak. She collected moss, cleaned it from needles, covered it with a special solution and painted it green, because natural moss has a grayish tint. It is a laborious and time-consuming work.
The result is a decorative panel "Map of Russia", where moss represents forests, mountains are made of papier-mache, and rivers are made of epoxy resin. There will be a place on the stand of the region for another creation of the artist — a work depicting fossil shells of ammonites, trilobites, sea lilies.
"I found information about them on the Internet. I used a mixed technique. I cut out large shells from Styrofoam and pasted them with papier-mâché. I used polymer clay for the smaller details. Everything was painted with acrylics and some details with varnish. Reliefs were made with paperclay. The concept here is the warmth of the ancient sea. Our region is rich in thermal springs, we bask in these waters" - explained Yurchak.
A contour drawing of Tyumen and Tobolsk can also be seen at the stand. Alevtina Yurchak transferred a sketch by artist Boris Trofimov onto the three-meter structure.
The International RUSSIA EXPO will be held in Moscow at the VDNH territory from November 4, 2023 to April 12, 2024. Each region of the Russian Federation will present its stand, where it will introduce visitors to the key achievements in various industries. Federal authorities, representatives of large corporations, public associations and foreign countries will also take part in the exposition.
