Cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov: "We all share one home"
From space, it becomes especially clear that all people live
in one common home, said Roscosmos test cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov in his
address to the guests and participants of the Eurasia International Award
ceremony. He noted that astronauts on the orbit work together regardless of
their nationality or culture.
"From space, you
can clearly see that we all share one home. Representatives of different
countries and cultures work side by side on the orbit. We speak different
languages, yet share a single goal — the exploration of space and the
advancement of humankind. Eurasia is a vast continent where cultures,
traditions and destinies have been intertwined for centuries. Each of you
continues this great tradition. May your projects help bring people together,
foster understanding and strengthen peace on Earth. I wish all participants
success, inspiration and new heights," said Alexander Gorbunov.
The award ceremony for the laureates of the Eurasia
International Award was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 29 October. The
Award was established by the ANO "Eurasia" in partnership with
Rossotrudnichestvo to honour outstanding contributions to the development of
Eurasian countries in such areas as the preservation of traditional values,
culture, education, volunteering and the promotion of the Russian language.
More than 3,700 applications from 27 countries were
submitted for participation in the Award. The final event at the National
Centre RUSSIA brought together over 1,000 participants, including nominees,
experts, public figures and honorary guests.
The National Centre RUSSIA hosted the award ceremony for the first Eurasia International Award.
The historical affinity between the peoples of Eurasia must be supported, not undermined.
