The creative economy of Mordovia is a magnet for tourists and investors
The creative economy is something that can become a magnet
for a region, helping it retain its residents and attract tourists. This was
stated at the National Centre RUSSIA by the Head of the Republic of Mordovia,
Artyom Zdunov, as part of the series of meetings "Region-2030. Republic of
Mordovia".
"Cinematography is a creative industry. Just three
years ago, it practically did not exist in the Republic, and now several
feature-length films have been produced. New computer games are emerging with
the support of presidential foundations. For example, 'Off-Road Commanders',
which we created together with KAMAZ," Artyom Zdunov said.
Mordovia places particular emphasis on innovative
production. The Head of the region noted that the Republic has ranked first in
Russia for several years in terms of the share of innovative goods. Almost one
third of Mordovia’s industrial output consists of new technological
developments.
According to Artyom Zdunov, the creative industry is born at
the intersection of art, crafts, environmentally friendly products and
technology. Mordovia’s creative sector includes jewellery and interior design
solutions — for example, items made from bog oak or featuring inlays:
"These are excellent gifts for foreign partners: they truly value them.
Just five years ago, these areas were less developed, but entrepreneurs
recognised market opportunities and began to invest."
