Legendary war correspondents spoke about their work in Donbass: roundtable discussion at the RUSSIA EXPO
On the Day of the Donetsk People's Republic at the RUSSIA EXPO, war correspondents - Alexander Sladkov, Semyon Pegov - together with the head of the region Denis Pushilin and journalist Vladimir Solovyov discussed information work in Donbass.
The head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin is sure that the information confrontation will last for a very long time.
"We have to do a lot to pass on the reality, real events, objective facts of the conflict to the next generations. The information war will continue in different interpretations. There is no doubt about that. This makes it all the more important to set the right tone and pass on the experience of our legendary war correspondents. Their work is dangerous - but it continues", — Denis Pushilin said.
In two years, a lot has changed thanks to the work of war correspondents, emphasized Russian journalist and TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov.
"We have restored the respect for the army despite the fact that there were different concerns We managed to do the main thing - because there is nothing more terrible than a country rejecting its army, when the Russian military school, weapons, commanders are questioned. The information front differs from abstract journalism in that you are in the center of the fighting, which is not visible, but is extremely important because it affects the mood of society", — said Vladimir Solovyov.
One of the ways of confrontation in the information field is the spread of fake news directed against Russia, even now their number is quite large, said the Director General of the ANO Dialogue Vladimir Tabak.
"A while ago, fakes were only a small part of the work. During the COVID-19, we believed that this was the peak, there could be no more. Back then, there were 1.5-2 million copies of fake messages per year, and we thought that was a big number. Now it is about 12-13 million. It is very important to work with the population in addition to refuting some specific fakes that we encounter every day", — said Vladimir Tabak.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
