President of the Russian Tennis Federation, full cavalier of the Order of Glory of the Republic of Mordovia and Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Mordovia Shamil Anvyarovich Tarpishchev answered schoolchildren's questions and held an autograph session.

The event took place at the stand of the Republic of Mordovia. It was attended by 50 children of 8-11 grades. The famous tennis player talked about his career, explained the complexity of tennis and advised the kids on sports worth practicing before picking up a racket.

"School creates a springboard, when a desire and three golden words are born inside: should, ought, must. If these three words are nurtured at school, you will be 100% invincible in life," said Shamil Tarpishchev.

The great sportsman and coach also shared with the youth the story of his love for tennis sport. Shamil Anvyarovich came to tennis thanks to football - in the tennis section where he was practicing, athletes played football at the end of classes. Subsequently, this sport became an integral part of the training process of Russian tennis players.

"It was interesting to listen to Shamil Anvyarovich, to learn about his life, about tennis in general. I don't play tennis, but I would like to try myself in this sport. I liked his arguments about sleep, now there are many people who go to bed at about 2 a.m. and wake up at 7 a.m., and this is harmful, you need to adjust your sleep schedule," shared the schoolchildren.

There is a regional tennis center named after Shamil Tarpishchev in Saransk. The children train on the courts with the most modern surface. All-Russian competitions and masterclasses of leading specialists and tennis players are often held here.
