The "Inventing the Future" lecture hall will bring together experts in storytelling, advertising, cinema, and video games
The National Centre RUSSIA invites audiences to the open
lecture hall "Inventing the Future: Plots and Stories", which will be
held on 7 February. Russian and international experts will discuss the art of
engaging storytelling and its role in shaping the meanings of the future in
education, advertising, cinema, and video games.
"Inventing the Future" is a continuation of the
educational lecture series dedicated to future scenarios, bringing together key
areas of human development — from culture and creativity to science and
technology. Leading Russian and international visionaries will share their
perspectives on what the lifestyle and mindset of the person of tomorrow may
look like.
The aim of the project is to design positive scenarios for
the future and inspire people to pursue new discoveries and achievements that
help bring it closer. The lecture hall is aimed at visitors to the National
Centre RUSSIA, students and young professionals, representatives of the
creative industries, and experts from the scientific community.
The first meeting will take place on 7 February and will focus on storytelling.
From 12:00 to 13:00, the discussion "Education
Through Stories" will be held, during which experts will address the
following questions: how does storytelling transform different forms of
education; how do perceptions of the past influence our understanding of the
present and the future; and which narratives and approaches to history help
make discussions of the past, present and future more engaging?
From 13:30 to 14:30, a discussion titled "Stories in
Advertising and Consumption" will take place. The art of engaging
storytelling has become a key marketing tool: today, it is not the product that
is sold, but the story that evokes emotion and creates a connection with a
brand.
From 15:00 to 16:00, the lecture hall will continue with the
discussion "Stories in Cinema and Video Games". Experts will talk
about what cinema and video games have in common, how this art form has
evolved, and the similarities and differences between dramaturgical tools and
visual technologies.
From 16:30 to 17:30, workshops by renowned chefs will be
held for participants of the lecture hall in the Gastronomic Rows of the
National Centre RUSSIA. The chefs will talk about cooking techniques and
immerse participants in the history and origins of various recipes.
Participants will be offered gastronomic sets of the food of the future
prepared by the chefs.
To take part in the free lecture hall, advance registration
is required on the official website of the National Centre RUSSIA in the
"Events" section.
