The second season of the All-Russian Competition of Young Managers "Rural Leaders" started at the Exposition on the National Priorities Day "Youth and Children: Youth Policy and Education".

The competition is part of the ongoing Rosmolodezh program "Personnel for Rural Areas". The goal of the project is to create conditions for self-realization of young people in rural areas.

"Our task is to reach every young person in the village and support their endeavors. Last year, the All-Russian Competition of Young Managers 'Rural Leaders' united 20,000 young people, many of whom then launched their projects and initiatives in villages, started their careers in expert and advisory bodies, and headed municipalities. This year we are planning to attract a new category of participants in the form of rural content creators," said Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of Rosmolodezh and mentor of the contest.

The organizers of the "Rural Leaders" contest aim to identify promising managers and opinion leaders in rural areas who could become the basis of the rural talent pool.

Proactive citizens aged 18 to 35 who are not indifferent to the fate of Russian villages are invited to participate: young people who want to develop in the fields of municipal management, public and political activity, education, healthcare, tourism, culture and sports, agriculture and the media sphere.

To participate in the contest, you need to register on the website лидерысела.рф until May 31. Based on the results of two distance stages, the 150 best contestants will be selected to participate in the All-Russian in-person finals at one of the federal sites of the country.

The winners of the All-Russian Competition of Young Managers with the support of experts will be able to implement their ideas on the development of their small homeland in the "Rural Development Workshop", will receive media support and a chance to become heads of regional and municipal headquarters of the "Personnel for Rural Areas" program, as well as enter the personnel reserve of the village. In addition, the best participants will have the opportunity to participate in the "Leaders of Change" educational program at the year-round youth educational center Youth Stanitsa Don.

"Our joint task is to help young people get a foothold in the country's municipalities, to become mentors, teachers and friends for them. It is especially important to do this in rural areas, where young people nowadays go not for money and comfort, but out of love for their small homeland, for the desire to change people's lives for the better, the desire to serve the country. Such qualities multiplied by the energy, creativity and ambition of young people will help to make our villages real points of growth," commented Irina Guseva, co-chair of VARMSU, member of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for the Development of Local Self-Government, mentor of the contest.

Russia is a country of great opportunities for young people, where they can realize their talents. Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out the topic of development of the younger generation as strategically important for the country.

"As early as in twenty, and someone in ten years will bring to life what we are doing with you today, what we put our own efforts into — into the realization of those goals of the country's development that we define," he believes.

The President paid much attention to supporting the young generation of Russia during his Address to the Federal Assembly. The head of state announced the launch of a new national project "Youth and Children".

The national project launches a large-scale campaign to comprehensively modernize the education and upbringing system. Over the next six years, all educational institutions in the country will be completely transformed: from kindergartens and schools to colleges and universities. At least 150 schools and more than 100 kindergartens will be built in the most actively growing cities at the expense of the federal budget. In addition, the program of building university campuses will be expanded and the network of dormitories will be renewed. But the national project is not just about how and where we will teach children, but also about who we will raise out of them. “Youth and Children” will make it possible to disseminate the best educational and upbringing practices, opportunities for self-realization of children and youth throughout the country.

The All-Russian Competition for Young Managers “Rural Leaders” is implemented by RURY (Russian Union of Rural Youth) together with the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government (VARMSU) with the support of Rosselkhozbank under the program from Rosmolodezh “Personnel for Rural Areas”.
