The country’s best educators named at the National Centre RUSSIA
The fifth ceremony of the Znanie.Award, the country’s main
educational award and the flagship project of the Russian society Znanie, took
place at the National Centre RUSSIA. The venue, which brings together the
achievements of all 89 regions of Russia, became a meeting place for those who
shape the educational agenda in science, culture, education, media and public
life.
Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation
Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasised in his speech that Znanie.Award occupies a special
place within the Decade of Science and Technology.
"Recently our President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the
Future Technologies Forum, emphasised that we must expand educational outreach
and open new horizons for the younger generation. An award like this promotes
educational work better than any other and is one of the brightest jewels in
the constellation of events of the Decade of Science and Technology, which is
being held in our country on the instructions of the President," said
Dmitry Chernyshenko.
In the nomination "For Contribution to Educational
Outreach in 'Science and Technology'", Dmitry Chernyshenko presented
awards to the All-Russian scientific and educational project "Atomic
Lesson" and to Natalia Popova, First Deputy Director General of the
Innopraktika Development Institute.
"What could be more meaningful than taking this fragile
spark of scientific knowledge, carrying it forward and lighting the hearts of
young people who may enter science and help advance it," noted Natalia
Popova.
State Secretary — Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Anna Tsivileva presented awards to the laureates of the nomination "For Contribution to Preserving the Memory of the Feats of the Defenders of the Fatherland", emphasising the importance of those who preserve and commemorate the memory of heroes.
"I am pleased to welcome you on behalf of the Ministry
of Defence and the state fund 'Defenders of the Fatherland'. It is a great
honour for me to present awards in this nomination and recognise those who
preserve and commemorate the memory of the feats of our heroes," said Anna
Tsivileva.
The Educator of the Year award went to Alias Avidzba, Deputy
Commander of the international brigade 'Pyatnashka' and head of the All-Russian
service project "Your Hero". Despite a severe combat injury, he
organised mentorship for more than 1,800 veterans of the special military
operation, who now meet with school pupils and students across the country. The
Best Project award went to "No Statute of Limitations", created by
the All-Russian public movement "Search Movement of Russia".
The film "Not Listed" won in the nomination "Best Educational Film". The award was presented by Alexei Goreslavsky, Director General of the Internet Development Institute, to the lead actor Vladislav Miller.
"Our film is about love for one’s homeland, about
overcoming fear, and about how the feat of one person can become a symbol of
resilience for an entire generation. I would like to thank the jury and the
viewers who took part in the public vote and who believe in the power of art
and education," said Vladislav Miller.
The National Centre RUSSIA also received a special award
during the ceremony. Director General of the Russian society Znanie Maxim
Dreval presented the centre with the prize in the nomination "Educational
Campaign of the Year". In 2025 alone, the centre welcomed more than half a
million visitors. Of the 650 events held there, half were educational and
outreach activities.
