Rais Hussin on new opportunities and risks associated with AI
Artificial intelligence opens up new opportunities, but it also brings new risks. One of the main concerns is the misuse of technology and the rejection of independent thinking. Rais Hussin, CEO of EMIR Research, spoke about this in the podcast of the Open Dialogue "OD on Air" with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia, Maxim Oreshkin.
"What concerns me more is the misuse of artificial intelligence. For example, if students rely on ChatGPT when completing their assignments, future generations may face intellectual decline. That is why we need an effective national policy in this area. <…> Otherwise, in five or ten years students will no longer be able to think and speak independently," said Rais Hussin.
The podcast episode with Rais Hussin was recorded during the January Expert Dialogues, which are part of the Open Dialogue event series. The initiative was launched by the National Centre RUSSIA in partnership with the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "Third Rome" with the support of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia.
