"Marathon of Exercises" continues: boxer Fyodor Chudinov held the third training session for the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO
Every week on the Main Street Stage of the International RUSSIA EXPO, the ambassadors of the Healthy Fatherland movement hold mass exercises. This Saturday, May 4, the training session was held by Russian professional boxer, Merited Master of Sports of Russia, current WBA Gold champion Fyodor Chudinov. Together with the guests of the Exposition, the Republic of Crimea joined the exercise via video link.
At the end of the event Fyodor Chudinov was presented with a special limited edition medal "Sports Russia". Anyone can receive them, said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
"The medal will be given to those who will come to the exercise sessions, communicate with our athletes and take autographs. It is necessary to collect a total of eight different autographs, and on July 6, to come for the medal. I would also like to express my gratitude to the regions, which organize the exercises together with us. St. Petersburg, Stavropol region, Kirov, Lipetsk and Sverdlovsk regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area have already taken part in them. Today more than 400 people from Crimea have joined us — RUSSIA EXPO and sports truly unite," said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
Sport is necessary to maintain the right level of physical activity, noted Fyodor Chudinov.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated the need to involve 70% of Russians in systematic sports by 2030. The Healthy Fatherland movement has been running the "Marathon of Exercises" project for more than a year to engage the country's citizens in mass sport. The purpose of today's event is to unite people around the right idea and the Exposition helps us in this," said Fyodor Chudinov.
The exercise is not the only joint project within the sports program at the Exposition, said Ekaterina Leshchinskaya, head of the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland".
"Together we will hold a large-scale sport procession on May 25. It will be timed to the 105th anniversary of the first sport parade, which was held on Red Square," said Ekaterina Leshchinskaya.
Let's remind that the idea to revive sport parades was suggested by the head of the International Boxing Association Umar Kremlev. The first such parade was held in Moscow in 1919.
"The upcoming parade march is an inspiring event, which we will hold together with the Healthy Fatherland movement and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. Our main task is to energize everyone with the sport spirit, convey an atmosphere of pride and express gratitude to our athletes. Welcome — it will be very beautiful and grand," added Anastasia Zvyagina.
The training session was the third in the framework of the "Marathon of Exercises at the RUSSIA EXPO" — a cycle of mass events that are organized jointly with the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland". It was opened by an exercise on April 20, conducted by Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny. It became the largest mass exercise in Russia — 5,773 people performed exercises at the same time. On April 27, the guests of the Exposition held an exercise under the guidance of Mikhail Koklyaev, eight-time weightlifting champion of Russia. Russian and world sport stars hold warm-ups for Exposition guests every Saturday on the Main Street Stage.
Young participants of the workshop "Modelling — a Prototype with Your Own Hands," held on May 31 at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The history of Russian architecture, bold concepts, and Soviet urban planning projects realised across the globe were presented to delegations of the exposition on May 31.
The award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of the Future" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 1, International Children's Day.
