A place of power of the Russian World: the Vologda region to present its potential at the National Centre RUSSIA
A large-scale presentation of the Vologda region will be held on 4 February at the National Centre RUSSIA. Guests can expect a rich programme of events dedicated to the region’s culture, landmarks, natural wealth, traditions, and strategic potential.
The central event will be an address by the Governor of the Vologda Region, Georgy Filimonov. He will present the region’s development strategy through to 2030, share vivid details of its transformation, and speak about new ambitious projects in demography, tourism, the economy, agriculture, and other key areas.
An important dialogue about the future will also take place — a meeting in Moscow bringing together young people, athletes, and representatives of the region with the Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), Grigory Gurov.
A special place in the thematic programme of the Vologda region will be given to the educational intensive programme "Running Across the Russian North: Discovering the Vologda Region". It will bring together more than 100 athletes, students, young parliamentarians, and representatives of the region. Participants will discuss how mass running events and modern sports infrastructure are becoming tools for promotion, shaping a positive image of the region, and contributing to the popularisation of a healthy lifestyle.
Experts will discuss the tourism potential of the Vologda region at a panel session with Moscow-based tour operators. Special attention will be paid to event tourism and the development of modern leisure formats to enhance the region’s tourist appeal and transform it into a nationwide centre of attraction.
The region’s gastronomic brands will also be in the spotlight. Guests at the National Centre RUSSIA will be invited to a tasting of Vologda cuisine and a master class by leading chefs. The programme includes a roll of Vologda pike-perch with roguľka and mashed potatoes, dezhyen made from tolokno with fermented baked milk cream, as well as pancakes prepared according to the traditional recipes of the Vologda land.
We would like to remind you that all events at the National Centre RUSSIA are free of charge. Some require advance registration on the website russia.ru. The up-to-date schedule of events is available in the "Events" section.
Modernising existing facilities and launching new production sites are among the key priorities of the Government of the Republic of Karelia.
