Metrotram and renovated airports: Chelyabinsk region at the RUSSIA EXPO
The
Southern Urals is developing and creating comfortable conditions for the people
who live there. This was announced by the Chelyabinsk region on the Day of the
Region at the RUSSIA EXPO. It spoke about the construction of the subway,
airport reconstruction and other achievements.
For
instance, the construction of the Chelyabinsk Metrotram was started back in
1992, but high costs stopped the process for a long time. It was only on the
order of President Vladimir Putin that the project was resumed in 2021.
Metrotram will connect remote parts of the city with a population of one
million people with each other. In addition, the airports in Chelyabinsk and
Magnitogorsk are being reconstructed in the region.
And the
Ural plant, together with South Ural State University and Moscow's Baumanka,
has developed a unique Arctic bus that can transport people in hard-to-reach
areas of the Far North.
"We
want to break many stereotypes about our region, as well as show how it is and
will be. The most important value for us is people. We are developing the South
Ural, making life more comfortable so that every person wants to live here,
love, create a family, give birth to children, get education, work and
rest", - said Governor Alexei Teksler.
The visitors to the exposition were shown a fashion performance of ethnic costumes based on Ural tales and folk crafts, as well as workshops on cooking South Ural dishes with tasting.
The Day of the Region came to a powerful conclusion with a show by Chelyabinsk drummers The Noize, who have performed at major venues in various countries.
Visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA can savor the southern cuisine of Crimea at the Gastronomic Rows.
The Day of Crimea’s Reunification with Russia is celebrated on March 18.
