Mikhail Murashko gave a tour to schoolchildren at the RUSSIA EXPO
On Health Day at the RUSSIA EXPO, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko gave a tour of the "Achievements of Russia" gallery. He spoke to high school students, who decided to tie their lives to medicine, about breakthrough achievements in domestic healthcare.
"Here is a number of achievements that have taken place over the past few years. Look - a significant reduction in child mortality. What does this indicate? It primarily reflects the overall level of medicine in the country. But the point is that this is the basis for shaping the subsequent health of a person for the rest of their life. Therefore, it is fundamentally important that all the screenings that are carried out during pregnancy and after birth make it possible to detect diseases. In fact, we give the foundation of health to children, so that they without any problems can continue to develop as adults, designed for longevity," said Mikhail Murashko during the tour.
Continuing to talk about the achievements of Russian medicine, the Minister of Health dwelt on another breakthrough - the average life expectancy in the country, which has reached 73.5 years.
"Until a person reaches the age of 18, his healthy habits are managed by adults. After reaching adulthood, unfortunately, not all these habits are maintained. A person, feeling that he has suddenly become an adult, attempts to try something, which in the end in one way or another leads to damage to health," noted the head of the department.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 7 million people have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place on the territory of VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
From 27 January to 1 March, Republic of Karelia Days will take place within the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The January Expert Dialogues are held with the support of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation in partnership with the Intersectoral Expertise Centre "Third Rome".
A meeting with Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department and official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was held at the National Centre RUSSIA.
