A space of opportunities for families: the future of upbringing discussed at the National Centre RUSSIA
At the National Centre RUSSIA, on the platform "Space
of Opportunities", a meeting was held between the participants of the
All-Russian Family Festival "Wings of Childhood" of the programme
"Eaglets of Russia" ("Orlyata Rossii") and Igor Yurgin,
Hero of the Russian Federation and Director of the Department of State Policy
in the Sphere of Upbringing, Supplementary Education and Children's Recreation
of the Ministry of Education of Russia, Alexander Kudryashov, Director of the
Russian Centre for Children and Youth, and Alexander Djeus, Director of the
All-Russian Children's Centre "Orlyonok".
The event was organised by the Federal State Budgetary
Institution "Russian Centre for Children and Youth" with the support
of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian
Children's Centre "Orlyonok" and the Movement of the First.
"The main focus of the programme 'Eaglets of Russia' is
the involvement of parents of primary school students in their children’s
lives, in extracurricular activities and in the work of public organisations.
State policy in the sphere of upbringing is implemented with their help.
Feedback is extremely important for us, and as the programme is being
implemented, it is enriched with various initiatives, including those from the
parent community. We learn, grow and fly together," noted Igor Yurgin,
Hero of the Russian Federation and Director of the Department of State Policy
in the Sphere of Upbringing, Supplementary Education and Children's Recreation
of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
During the meeting, participants were able to discuss
important issues of family upbringing, the role of parents in raising the
younger generation, and the significance of joint work between the family and
the school. The event became an important step in building a unified system of
upbringing based on the two most important institutions of a child's
socialisation – the family and the school.
"The programme 'Eaglets of Russia' is unique in that it
brings everyone together: children, parents, teachers, directors' advisors on
upbringing and mentors. This is not just about raising primary school students
— it is about creating a single upbringing space where, through joint
creativity and constructive activity, every participant gains opportunities for
personal growth. When children, parents and teachers act together, that is the
true formation of personality!" said Alexander Kudryashov, Director of the
Russian Centre for Children and Youth.
The All-Russian Family Festival "Wings of Childhood"
is focused on joint activities, exchange of experience and immersion in the
values of the programme "Eaglets of Russia", which has been
implemented since 2021. Over this time, it has united more than 5 million
primary school students in all regions of our country. Entire classes of
primary school students take part in the project, which teaches them to work as
a team. For this, the class teacher needs to register on the website
"Eaglets of Russia". Children can join the ranks of the Eaglets throughout
the academic year.
"The parent community is not just support, but the main
partner in the upbringing of our children. In the programme 'Eaglets of Russia'
we place special emphasis on parental involvement, because it is precisely
family values and joint efforts that help primary school students develop
social responsibility, initiative and self-confidence. The mission of parents
is to be an example, a mentor and a support for the child, so that he or she
can develop harmoniously and become a true citizen of our country,"
commented Alexander Djeus, Director of the All-Russian Children's Centre
"Orlyonok".
The All-Russian Family Festival "Wings of
Childhood" was held for the first time in 2025. It brought together family
teams – winners of a competitive selection from different regions of the
country.
The festival programme included educational meetings and
discussions on children's upbringing and education. Participants engaged in
joint creativity: they created projects dedicated to family history and
developed a collection of traditional household activities. In addition,
families took part in folk games, workshops, intellectual competitions and
excursions, which helped them to better understand the programme "Eaglets
of Russia" and discover new ways of meaningful leisure.
The festival contributed to a deeper understanding of the
values and directions of the programme, the development of modern formats of
family recreation and the creation of a community of like-minded people.
Parents learned about modern approaches to upbringing,
discussed the image of a "successful parent" and the role of the
family in the educational space. An important part of the event was the
exchange of unique and effective methods and approaches to upbringing.
The exposition spaces will be closed to visitors for two days — 18 and 19 August.
