Young guests of the National Centre RUSSIA made models of the "Factories of Happiness" at the master class
Young architects and their parents took part in a model-making activity at the master class "Factory of Happiness: the Architecture of Joy" at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 22.
The event participants made with their own hands the miniature factories which produce good mood, relaxation, and process sorrows — out of materials that were at hand. The children converted their ideas into 3D format models. The master class was held by teachers from School of Architecture of the Future "GRID".
"We are coming up with unusual buildings — factories that can produce endless happiness and make people happy. There are a lot of sad moments in the world, and that's why we need a place where we can create love! There are many workshops inside the factory: a hug room, a tower of dreams, a warehouse of memories, a cave of silence, a friendship pipeline and a smile mechanism. Each workshop is a neural network: a laboratory of the good. The tubes are the plasma arteries pumping liquid optimism, the buttons stand for sensors scanning the emotional background of the universe. The fabric curtains now filter out quantum interference, letting in only beams of joy. Where in your reality are the particles of neural happiness born? Perhaps in a black hole where the photons of unfinished dreams collide," said Egor Orlov, founder of School of Architecture of the Future "GRID".
A teacher at "GRID" Yana Senyagina said that in total, four classes are planned in the "Happiness Factory" master class cycle, following which the mentors will choose the best project.
"One girl came up with a bold idea: when you come home tired after work, you want to relax. She offered an armchair under a dome and transports you to a place where you are happy. For some, happiness is a wild forest, for others — a riverbank. Here is a model of another participant's "Factory of Happiness", a home on wheels where sorrows are transformed into happy moments. If you look closely, you can see how bad memories are processed at the factory and become happy. They are accumulated in reservoirs, and a person can reuse them," said Yana Senyagina.
The master classes at the National Centre RUSSIA are held as part of the educational program of the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale". The exposition presents realized architectural projects, as well as ideas remaining at the conceptual level. The exposition consists of both the National Centre's own materials, and exhibits provided by museums and private collections from all over the country.
You can learn more about the Russian architecture from a cycle of educational lectures by the National Centre RUSSIA with art critic Elizaveta Likhacheva.
The partners of the exposition are DOM.RF, Ministry of Construction of Russia, Gazprom, Shchusev State Museum of Architecture, Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, Yakov Chernikhov Architectural Foundation, HSE School of Design.
