Over 200 couples from across the country to get married at the second All-Russian Wedding Festival at the National Centre RUSSIA
On the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity — July 8 — the second All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts" that will bring together newlyweds from various regions of the country will open in Moscow. The programme, which will run until July 10, will include educational tours, workshops, expositions, lectures and public talks.
The All-Russian Wedding Festival was first held in 2024 as part of the International RUSSIA EXPO. According to Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, the event received exclusively positive feedback — guests asked for it to be held again. Last year, 151 couples were married in a single day at the exposition. This year, even more newlyweds are expected.
"It is here, at the National Centre RUSSIA, on the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, that couples in love will say 'I do' to each other. In total, over 200 couples will get married during the festival. We will see the wedding traditions of different regions of the country — from costumes to cuisine. Guests can look forward to workshops and public talks, where wedding industry experts will speak about how weddings were held in Rus', how they are celebrated today, and share their thoughts on the weddings of the future," said Anastasia Zvyagina.
The strong interest in the event was also confirmed by Svetlana Ukhaneva, Head of the Moscow Civil Registry Office: "Every year we organise special ceremonial wedding registrations. Some unique marriage ceremonies, such as our underwater wedding ceremony at the Moskvarium, are held for several couples. We also hold large-scale wedding events. In 2024, we held a simultaneous marriage registration for 151 couples as part of the first All-Russian Wedding Festival. In May, we began accepting applications for the second festival. We received a tremendous response from soon-to-be newlyweds from all over the country. On the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, registry office officials from Moscow will register marriages for couples from all corners of Russia."
The wedding festival will begin with a boat trip along the Moskva River for the couples, followed by a festive procession and a joint wedding ceremony. The newlyweds will be dressed in outfits incorporating elements of traditional costumes.
After the official ceremonies, the couples will have the opportunity to take part in a prize draw for a special tour and continue discovering Russia’s cultural traditions.
The festival’s events will showcase Russia’s rich culture through the wedding customs of its peoples. The programme will also include a large concert featuring stars of the Russian stage.
The All-Russian Wedding Festival was first held in 2024 as part of the International RUSSIA EXPO. On the opening day, more than 300 people registered their marriage. The event was registered in the Russian Book of Records. Over the course of the RUSSIA EXPO, 564 people got married — a historic event remembered by 282 families. Some of the families created during the first All-Russian Wedding Festival have already welcomed children.
Participants shared stories about the traditions and memorable places of their Motherland with compatriots and peers from abroad.
