As a memory of Russia: nevalyashka charmed EXPO guests in Harbin
The exposition of the National Centre RUSSIA became one of the main points of attraction for visitors to the 10th Russian-Chinese EXPO in Harbin. The flagship project, Department Store, introduced guests to goods from Russian manufacturers, fashion collections and folk arts and crafts. The famous nevalyashkas, traditional Russian roly-poly dolls, attracted great interest among visitors, who chose them as souvenirs to remember their encounter with Russia.
One of the Department Store guests, Shi Dongwei, noted that the space attracts attention with its unusual and beautiful design. Shi Dongwei also praised the variety of goods presented, while the nevalyashka was what he liked most.
"When I was little, I really liked Russian toys, nevalyashkas, and today I finally saw a real one. The pavilion also presents a lot of porcelain, craft items and clothing, and everything is very beautiful. I hope that even more friends will be able to discover Russian goods and buy items made by Russian craftspeople," the visitor said.
The National Centre RUSSIA brought nevalyashkas in four different designs to Harbin. One of them is in the traditional colours of China, red and yellow, featuring a wild plum blossom, a symbol of renewal and resilience. There is also a nevalyashka in the image of a child in a panda costume, a symbol of harmony and warm relations between Russia and China, as well as the panda itself and a traditional red toy.
In addition, Department Store presented goods and folk arts and crafts from different regions of the country at the international venue. The exposition brought together porcelain, crystal, amber and lace items, accessories, delicacies, and decorative and applied art objects.
The staff of the Moscow 24 editorial office explained how a city news television channel operates, covering events in the capital and Moscow Region.
During the all-Russian survey "What does the Motherland begin with?", people across the country are answering this question in their own way, opening up the innermost corners of their souls.
Souvenir nevalyashkas (traditional Russian roly-poly dolls), are attracting particular attention, with guests choosing them for their harmonious combination of Russian colour and traditional Chinese symbols.
