The first event of the National Centre RUSSIA will discuss how museums will change in the future
One of the key topics of discussion at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" will be the transformation of museum spaces in a rapidly changing world. As part of the congress "Museum: A Place for Shaping the Future," experts from various countries will examine the role of museums as institutions that shape public values and create a connection between the past and the future.
The museum congress will be held over three days, curated and moderated by Elizaveta Likhacheva, Director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
Congress participants will discuss how the function of museums is evolving in the context of social transformations. Experts from Russia, India, Egypt, Belarus, China, and other countries will consider how museums facilitate the interpretation of historical heritage and how they can become spaces focused on the future. The congress will also address the educational role of museums and their importance in the process of upbringing and cultural enrichment.
Among the invited speakers are Buddha Rashmi Mani, Director of the National Museum of India; Fayrouz Fekry, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization; Alexander Khramoi, Director of the National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus; Ekaterina Pronicheva, Director of the State Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve; Viktor Shalay, Director of the State Unified Museum-Reserve of Far Eastern History named after V.K. Arsenyev; Majed Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Museum of the Future (UAE); and other experts.
Participants will discuss opportunities for the technological transformation of museum spaces. They will examine how modern technologies, including neurophysiological research, could reshape museum expositions and the organization of museums of the future.
On July 1, 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the National Centre RUSSIA to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and showcase the country's achievements on a permanent basis.
From November 4 to 6, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The participants will include scientists and researchers, futurologists and forecasters, science fiction writers, and representatives of the authorities.
The Symposium will become a unique international platform for open dialog, where the scenarios of human development and global challenges of our time will be discussed. The program includes more than 60 events in four areas: the future of human, the future of technology, the future of the multipolar world and the future of civilization.
The event will be attended by scientists, futurologists, government and business representatives from more than 40 countries, including Austria, Argentina, India, China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others.
The Symposium program is published on the website https://future.russia.ru/. Broadcasts of the events will also be available there during the days of the Symposium. As part of the opening of the Symposium, an exposition will be launched that will support the idea of a human-centric dialogue about the future of the world. The exposition will allow each visitor to realize the importance of personal contribution to the future.
