A special section on Russia’s Golden Ring launched on RUSSPASS
A new special section dedicated to the legendary historical route through the cities of the Golden Ring has appeared on the digital travel platform RUSSPASS. The anniversary of the route will be celebrated in 2027. Thematic routes, an events calendar, and articles in the RUSSPASS Journal are designed to inspire travellers to set off on a journey. The platform also offers ready-made tours available for booking.
The special section on RUSSPASS allows users to select themed travel routes across the Golden Ring based on their interests. The wide variety of itineraries published on the platform makes it easy to plan a trip and navigate through the many options available. The platform currently features over 25 routes, including the Museum of Moscow’s original route "Closing the Golden Ring", "Discovering Fairy Tales and History: A Family Trip to Kostroma", "Palekh, Yuzha, and Kholuy: Ancient Centres of Folk Crafts in the Ivanovo Region", and "To the Capital of Stone Merchants’ Chambers: A Journey to Gorokhovets", among others.
The section also includes an up-to-date events calendar for the Golden Ring cities, helping tourists navigate the wealth of seasonal cultural and festival events, and an interactive map marking key landmarks along the route.
Travellers can explore a collection of over 15 exclusive articles united under the motto "Inspiring Journeys". The content was created in collaboration with true experts and creative professionals from the Golden Ring regions, including Fyodor Savintsev, devoted to reviving Mstera; Alla Chayanova from the Plyos Museum Reserve; Yevgenia and Vadim Dymov, founders of the "Dymov" Suzdal ceramics project; and many others. The section is regularly updated to inspire new travel experiences.
Ready-made tours of the Golden Ring are also available on the platform. Since their launch, they have enjoyed high popularity, with demand continuing to grow.
Visitors can also immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the iconic route offline: at the "Journey Across Russia" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA, an entire section is dedicated to the Golden Ring. Guests can take a virtual journey through the ancient cities, try playing the melody of "Moscow Nights" on a real belfry, and see authentic folk art items displayed in a special showcase. The Golden Ring zone is completed by ornaments inspired by the patterns of the Dmitrievsky Cathedral in Vladimir. The image of the lion from this cathedral became the symbol of the National Centre RUSSIA, embodying the revival of national culture, as well as the country’s stability and security.
The RUSSPASS digital travel platform was launched in 2020 and has since evolved into a full-fledged ecosystem. The service allows users to plan trips easily, book tickets and accommodation, and find excursions. The online publication RUSSPASS Journal provides insights into travel across Russia, while since June 2023, the RUSSPASS.Business portal has been operating for representatives of the tourism industry.
The RUSSPASS platform was developed at the initiative of the Moscow Government. The project is supervised by the Moscow Committee for Tourism in cooperation with the Department of Information Technologies.
