The II Video Essay Contest "Dreams of the Future" is being held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 7 June. One of the highlights of the programme was the first-ever performance of the contest’s official anthem. The event is being livestreamed on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA and on its official social media pages.

The lyrics of the anthem were written by Tatyana Balandina, Editor-in-Chief of the Musical Key magazine and a finalist of the "Znanie.Authors" song poetry contest held by the Russian society Znanie. The musical accompaniment was created using artificial intelligence technologies. The piece was the result of collaboration between a person and modern technologies, which fully reflects the idea of the contest, dedicated to exploring the future.

"The theme of the project 'Dreams of the Future' is incredibly close to the story of this song itself. It is touching that what seemed to be an ordinary children’s song could become the anthem of such an important event. The lyrics were written as part of the Nikolai Dobronravov Author Song Poetry Contest and became a finalist among 35 entries. This is also very important to me because I share the ideas of the Contest myself. I believe that dreams really do come true — and today this has become a reality for me," Tatyana Balandina shared.

The II Video Essay Contest "Dreams of the Future" continues the work to revive public interest in designing the future, which began at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future". The project is being held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.

In 2026, the contest participants included teams from all 89 regions of Russia, as well as representatives of ten republics of the near abroad: Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Transnistria. A total of 935 applications were submitted for the contest, bringing together 3,740 participants. Following the selection process, 310 video essays advanced to the next stage.
