The "StudAptatsiYA"("Student Adaptation") game was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 7 June as part of the II Video Essay Contest "Dreams of the Future". Together with participants in the "Young Journalists School" project, the contest finalists practised skills for environmentally conscious teamwork, trained emotional intelligence and creative thinking.

"The game was very educational and fun. We played on a special board: we rolled a die, moved pieces and answered questions from different decks of cards. Thanks to this game, I met very interesting and smart people my own age. I heard many stories from them, learnt what they do and even adopted some qualities for myself. We talked about ourselves, our hobbies and interests so we could get to know one another better and keep in touch after the meeting. Such games help establish contact, find like-minded people and look at many things from a new perspective," shared Stepan Shtukaturov, a participant in the "Dreams of the Future" project from Sevastopol.

The journey to the National Centre RUSSIA for the children who reached the final of the II Contest "Dreams of the Future" began with a new experience. Together with five participants in the "Young Journalists School" project, the guests took part in the "StudAptatsiYA" game. The children talked about themselves and learnt interesting facts about others, practised building effective interaction, analysing emotions and using creative thinking to solve unusual tasks. According to the scenario, participants answered questions from different areas of life and, of course, shared their vision of the future. Through live communication, the children did not simply get to know one another, but also found shared values. It turned out that teenagers from different regions and countries equally value friendship and family, dream of gaining an interesting profession and want to contribute to the future. In this way, the game became a reflection of unity, which is especially relevant in the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. By the final stage of "StudAptatsiYA", the participants had become so friendly and involved in conversation that they almost forgot their contest works were competing in the final.

"A very clear and interesting event. I really want this game, but I found out that it cannot be bought. We would gladly take it to our teen space. During the game, memories come up, people talk for a long time, share emotions and then all continue communicating together. We became much closer. There were stories from childhood and from school — it is very interesting and helps you get to know people from different sides. I think we will keep in touch," said Yekaterina Lutsenko from Belokurikha in the Altai Territory, a member of the "KOT — Open Doors Club" team.

The engaging game prepared the children for the award ceremony. Under the terms of the II Contest "Dreams of the Future", the jury selected winners in the 12–15 and 16–18 age categories from among the 20 teams that reached the final. Special prizes were presented by the National Centre RUSSIA, the Skolkovo Foundation, the Chitai-Gorod bookshop chain, the YF media outlet about reading and the Hedgehog Academy.

This year, teams from all 89 regions of Russia, as well as from 10 republics of the near abroad, took part in the contest: Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Transnistria. The total number of applications submitted was 935, and the number of participants was 3,740.

The "Dreams of the Future" video essay contest continues the work to revive public interest in designing the future, which began at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future".
