A long interview with Alexei Texler, Governor of the Chelyabinsk region, has been posted on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA. In that interview, the Governor spoke in detail about the region's technological development strategy, measures to support the investors, and key projects which determine the future of the Southern Urals.

While talking with the Press Office of the National Centre RUSSIA, Alexei Texler emphasized an integrated approach to development that combines the modernization of traditional industries with the creation of fundamentally new industries. He stressed that even such basic region's industries as metallurgy and mechanical engineering are highly innovative today and are actively implementing end-to-end technologies, including artificial intelligence. Alexei Texler paid special attention to the establishment of an ecosystem of industrial robot production in the region, which includes not only factories, but also personnel training, from schools to the new Faculty of Robotics at SUSU.

Answering questions about the investment climate, the Governor noted that if we look at this indicator, the Chelyabinsk region is among the top 5 regions of Russia. A wide range of tools are used to attract investments: from joint efforts with federal development institutions, such as the project financing factory, to creating a special economic area near Chelyabinsk, and introducing benefits for small businesses and creative industries.

In addition, during the interview, the region's flagship projects in the fields of education, sports, transport and tourism were discussed. Among them are a new campus in Chelyabinsk, which will start working in 2027, a sports cluster with the RMK Arena, the metrotramway project, as well as the Adzhigardak ski resort in the Ashinsky district. According to Alexei Texler, these and many other initiatives are shaping the new image of the Chelyabinsk region as a modern, dynamically developing region that makes a significant contribution to technological sovereignty and strengthening the country's defense capability.

The full version of the interview is available on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA.
