On November 4, the opening day of the International Symposium "Inventing the Future," an open discussion titled "The Evolution of the Brain: How the World is Changing Us?" will be held as part of the "Future of Human" thematic track. This session will focus on the unique functions and capabilities of the human brain — the most complex object in the Universe.

Experts will discuss new findings and technologies in neuroscience that will impact our future and attempt to predict what tomorrow's human will be like, including potential changes in appearance, behavior, and lifestyle.

Participating in the discussions will be Olga Dragoy, Director of the HSE University Centre for Language and Brain; Vyacheslav Dubynin, neurophysiologist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Faculty of Biology at Lomonosov Moscow State University; Dmitry Kopachev, neurosurgeon at the Scientific Centre for Neurology; Mikhail Lebedev, neurophysiologist, developer of brain-computer interfaces, Professor at MSU, Head of the Neurotechnology Lab at IEPhB RAS; Matteo Feurra, Senior Research Fellow at the NRU HSE Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience (Italy); and others.

Discussion participants will consider the possibilities of telepathy and communication without words, the impact of artificial intelligence on brain development, prospects for neurorehabilitation, and the potential to eliminate depression, dementia, strokes, and other currently incurable diseases.

The discussion will be moderated by Alexey Paevsky, science journalist, Head of the Press Service of the Federal Research Centre for Chemical Physics and Medical Chemistry of the RAS, and Editor-in-Chief of the Neuronews portal.

On July 1, 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the National Centre RUSSIA to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and showcase the country's achievements on a permanent basis.

From November 4 to 6, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The participants will include scientists and researchers, futurologists and forecasters, science fiction writers, and representatives of the authorities.

The Symposium will become a unique international platform for open dialog, where the scenarios of human development and global challenges of our time will be discussed. The program includes more than 60 events in four areas: the future of human, the future of technology, the future of the multipolar world and the future of civilizations.

The event will be attended by scientists, futurologists, government and business representatives from more than 40 countries, including Austria, Argentina, India, China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others.

The Symposium program is published on the website https://future.russia.ru/. Broadcasts of the events will also be available there during the days of the Symposium.

As part of the opening of the Symposium, an exposition will be launched that will support the idea of a human-centric dialogue about the future of the world. The exposition will allow each visitor to realize the importance of personal contribution to the future.
