The winners of the contest "Know? Teach!" were awarded at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 15,
the ATOM pavilion hosted an awarding ceremony for 20 winners of the third
season of the All-Russian Children's Popular Science Video Contest "Know?
Teach!". Pupils of grades 1-11 filmed short popular science videos, and
the jury determined the winners in three age categories, five thematic
nominations and six special nominations.
"The
All-Russian Contest "Know? Teach!" is held within the framework of
the Decade of Science and Technology announced by President Vladimir Putin.
This time more than 8 thousand schoolchildren participated in five thematic and
six special nominations. This shows how interesting the topic of science is to
the younger generation. Dear children! Your works were seriously selected and
recognized as the best. I wholeheartedly congratulate you on your victory! The
third season of the competition is coming to an end, but your scientific life
is just beginning," appealed Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko to
the winners.
The award
ceremony is not just a solemn event for the winners, but also an opportunity to
honor all the participants who were able to show their talents and combine the
research spirit with a creative approach to learning, emphasized Sofia
Malyavina, General Director of ANO "National Priorities".
"We
are happy to see that the contest unites the kids in the desire to join
scientific knowledge and pass it on to others. Every year the interest in "Know?
Teach!" grows - in the third season of the contest almost three thousand
children sent their videos. Their works inspire new discoveries and demonstrate
that knowledge can be fascinating and accessible to all," she said.
The contest
is held within the framework of the initiative "Infrastructure for
popularization of science, content creation” of the Decade of Science and
Technology and with the support of the national project “Science and
Universities”. The contest is organized by ANO "National Priorities"
and the science education platform "Atomarium | Homo Science" with
the support of Rosatom State Corporation.
"We
have summarized the results of the third season of our contest. It involves
children from all regions of the country. I would like to note that this is the
largest All-Russian popular science video contest among schoolchildren. In the
course of it, children try their hand at being science communicators. In
addition, by generating ideas for their videos and recording them, they learn
to use different media tools. While helping their students, the
teachers-mentors, who were also awarded at the ceremony, acquire new skills. We
are popularizing the format of creative learning, when a child, fascinated by a
certain scientific topic, goes beyond the standard school curriculum and at the
same time makes discoveries," said Gleb Fedorov, Chief Producer of ANO
"National Priorities".
Rosatom
State Corporation encourages children and youth to pursue research, science and
technology, and opens new opportunities for interested and inquisitive
schoolchildren. That is why Rosatom presented its own special nomination
“Composites without Borders” in the 2024 competition.
"Today
more than ever it is important not only to have knowledge, but also to be able
to share it. And that is why Rosatom is once again happy to support the
All-Russian video contest, which helps schoolchildren to explore and learn
about the world around them, as well as to take an active part in creating
scientific and educational content. All participants of the contest are our
future, and their passion for science is another step towards the formation of
an advanced society," emphasized Alexander Tyunin, Director General of the
Composite Division of Rosatom State Corporation.
The age
categories were divided into "Junior School", "Middle School"
and "Senior School", in each of them children of corresponding ages
competed. In addition to the age categories, winners were determined in
thematic categories of the competition, which reflected specific areas of
modern science.
The winner
in the "Natural Sciences" nomination was Liliya Dzhakvalieva, an 11th
grade student of School No. 32 in Astrakhan, with her video “How to Hold on to
Molecules”: "I learned about the contest from my teacher. I was very
interested in it, as I like to watch popular science content, and it became
interesting to be on the other side of the screen. I made a video with my
lizards. The point of the video is to utilize the workings of living systems in
modern science. That's exactly what bionics is all about".
The final session of the Open Dialogue "Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on the closing day, April 30.
Quantum technologies are the key to digital sovereignty, security, and breakthrough discoveries. We are not copying anyone else's path — we are creating our own.
