Popularization of science among young people was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO

Popularization of science among young people was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
04.26.2024

On April 26, the Pavilion F Gazprom hosted an open dialog with the leaders and participants of the CHALLENGE Youth Community. They discussed popularization of science in the youth environment.

Andrei Serov, First Vice President of Gazprombank JSC and Director General of the CHALLENGE Youth Community, said that the idea to create the movement came after the TV show CHALLENGE on TNT channel, where popular Russian bloggers, actors, singers were tested together with unknown talents from the spheres of science, art and technology.

"Young scientists who took part in the project, of course, did not become "stars". But still, ten episodes on TNT channel is a very serious foundation for anyone to make a name for themselves. We did not set the task to turn the guys into celebrities. But the fact that they were seen and recognized, and convinced that they are not "stubborn nerds" — we thought it was important. The professionalism of Gazprom-Media Holding and the Insight People agency, who brought interesting young people, played no small part. There was a strong production team and wonderful presenters," said Andrei Serov.

One of the main goals of the CHALLEGE movement is popularization of science.

"CHALLEGE Youth Community unites talented young scientists from all over the country. We help to highlight and promote their scientific research and discoveries in the media space. Social networks are the main platform for interaction with young people. To popularize science, it is necessary not only to use modern technologies competently, but also to tell about achievements in an accessible, understandable language. It is important to show the young generation that it is prestigious and interesting to do science," said Valeria Rodina, coordinator of the CHALLEGE Youth Community, PR-director of the Insight People production center.

The session was attended by both young interested spectators of the Lecture Hall of the Gazprom Pavilion and a large number of young people via online broadcast.

The CHALLENGE Youth Community is an association of young people from all over the country with professional interests in science and culture, created on the initiative of the Non-State Development Institute Innopraktika and the Insight People production center. An important task of the Community is to form public opinion about the significance of science, innovation and culture development in the youth environment and media, as well as to create new opinion leaders from among young researchers, developers and innovators.
